- Address. A script address is best used for an event invitation, not for a mailing selling furnaces, which this is.
- Barcode. An intelligent mail barcode is especially important if you need to time "in-home" dates to an event, because the codes connect you to postal audit reports. This offer is not time sensitive, because its shelf life could be months.
- Indicia.Two options to the current indicia would improve response. A third-class stamp will improve open rates, because it looks more like a real letter would be inside. Or, the sender could use an indicia with the manufacturer's name in it as an implied endorsement.
- Design. Is this a mailer for a furnace sale or for a psychedelic head shop! Pinks, blues and greens are not furnace colors. The male of the household would not open this or look at it, and the male of the household usually makes furnace decisions.
